The Eildon Park Tennis Club committee hope that you and your family are coping the best you can. We’re all counting down the time until tennis becomes part of our lives again, in the meantime, we thought we would update you with the information we currently have on all competitions / coaching.
Traditionally, Winter Junior Comp would be commencing this coming weekend and other competitions would be restarting during the next few days. This is the current communication from the WDTA site:
“A resumption date is in the hands of Tennis Victoria and Government bodies at all levels, and we will keep all clubs informed as to when competition will resume.
We are putting the Junior Winter season in a holding pattern pending the return of tennis.
Our intention is to play the Winter season with the advised Finals schedule, and for the season to start at whichever round falls after Tennis Victoria and other authorities provide a starting date.
Waverley Tennis wish for all our tennis players to stay home and stay safe. All Waverley Tennis competitions will return eventually, and we look forward to being able to again provide the competition tennis that you all enjoy.”
As soon as we have confirmation of a start date, we’ll advise the date of the Junior Briefing Session where Nick will have a chance to introduce himself, we’ll have all the usual past season celebrations and release the details for the winter teams.
In relation to Stefan and his coaching program, he will be resuming lessons as soon as Tennis Victoria advise it is safe to do so. Don’t forget to check out all of Stefan’s content on his Facebook and Instagram pages as you may find something you can put into practice when you’re back on court. And maybe send him a quick note to say Hi and show your support to him and his team during this frustrating time.
A few other things still progressing in the background:
- We are in the final phases of implementing “Square” for all bar purchases going forward. This means all purchases will be made with your credit/debit card. This is part of our club commitment to reduce our reliance on cash/coins.
- We’ve commenced discussion with Knox City Council regarding resurfacing courts 4,5&6 and replacing the old lights with new LED’s similar to the new lights on courts 1,2&3. This is a long-term joint project with Council and we’ll provide more details as we go through the process.
- Knox City Council have agreed to install a street sign for our club at the driveway entrance to the car park.
- Don’t forget to support our partner The Sporting Globe, when you’re looking for a fantastic takeway option. And remember to download the app and select EPTC as your club of choice to earn reward dollars for yourself and our club.
We hope everyone keeps their spirits up; our club will be back better than ever and thank you to all our members for your patience and understanding during this time.
